Cheating Extravaganza: Who's Better at Cheating? Men or Women?

The sophistication and digitalization of the world seems to be exemplified by the comfortable airing of otherwise taboo subjects on social media.

Our ancestors must be reeling with shock in their graves about the casual disclosures online. Or how can one place the free film shows on offer to whom it may concern of recent by estranged spouses? How can one process salacious details and pictures of once happily married couples with children to boot engaging in tell all on social media in the last few days?

In the past, a broken marriage with all the attendant woes and pains were handled discreetly in the law courts or traditional routes.

Financial and custodial settlements were brokered by family courts and lawyers.

Not anymore as everyone is treated to tales by moonlight, leaked audio recordings and weird pictures. No one was present when the two hitherto lovebirds tied the knot and promised till “death do us part” and other sweet nonsense.

Today, weekly and daily updates are being dropped by representatives of both parties to score points against each other. It’s vicious and unrelenting in the dugout of murky details about each other.

Certainly, celebrities don’t have it easy in the public eye. They are placed on impossibly high pedestals akin to celestial gods. They are not supposed to fail, fall, break or misstep at all. And when they do fall their fans don’t stay idle.
Alas! they are simply human beings like you and I. Deeply flawed, prone to errors and capable of messing up time and time again.

The only game changer they have is the army of advisers on their payroll, ready to make unsavoury situations disappear.

So, they provide mouthwatering budgets to influencers for management of their public image and position them as serious upstanding members of the society.

Not all celebrity marriages wash their dirty linen in public even when cheating is involved. There was the case of two popular actors who quietly uncoupled without drama. We only got to know of the separation during the husband’s new marriage. It was quiet and classy.

Which brings up the question amidst this cheating extravaganza that has gripped online in-laws: who’s more adept at the game of cheating? Is it men or women? Who can conceal more? Who can easily chop and clean mouth? Who are the Odogwu and Achalugo of cheating?
