A few days ago, a vibrant young woman, a medical doctor, Chuchu Ajumogobia, the daughter of Justice Rita Ajumogobia and Soboma Ajumogobia was taken away from us. I knew her. I met her a couple of times as I am friends with her family. I cried all day upon hearing the news. This was literally death at dawn. Speculation is rife that it may have been the handiwork of domestic workers at the family house in the highbrow Parkview Estate in Ikoyi. The police are investigating. Here’s a note I sent to the deceased’s mother:
My dearest Rita, my beloved sister, I’m in tears. This pain is too painful. May the Lord in His infinite mercy console you by Himself. Please, do not button up any emotions. Do not try to be strong. God made tears for a time like this. Please cry, cry, my beloved sister. This pain is too painful. Cry. May God keep you.
