This week, we will be rolling out the drums for all the men in our lives.
We will be singing praise songs with rampant ululations. Do men deserve these shout-outs?
Yes, they do… No matter what women say, men are their better halves.
Well, we are also acutely aware of some women who repeatedly take delight in name calling and male bashing.
Some of those negative names include dead-beat dads, two seconds men, scums, heartbreakers, and interlopers.
That’s why we’re determined to change all that this time around on Women’s Hub as we celebrate International Men’s Day.
So, this week I want to ask you ladies this very critical question? Can women really go it alone through life without the menfolk?
This thought kept on playing in my mind when juxtaposed alongside the slurry of social media posts of young women offering monetary inducements to men as dowry for marriage. A young lady reportedly carried a placard during the last protest advertising for a husband! Should that suggest men are that important, and useful to women?
These women for one are young, beautiful, and accomplished in their various careers and businesses.
So, when all factors are in place, are men still needed or important?
I took these posers to the streets and these were my findings.
Despite the howls of woke apologists, and their ilk, relationships between men and women are highly rated and important to women in this part of the world.
Childbearing, companionship, physical intimacy, and sense of belonging are some of the immediate benefits of having men in one’s corner.
According to some women, you have to spread the dragnet wider to locate an international man of repute. According to them, the societal complexities can be confusing to the casual observer.
This can explain why some women are already farming out their search to include other races due to globalisation and travel.
Such ladies are determined to keep on trying to attract and keep men despite past failures.
Do you know that this year’s theme for International Men’s Day is mastering Mental Health? Do you know that modern men are also victims of domestic violence, mental health disorders and challenges? Community bonding and interactions are being touted as tools to manage life issues experienced by our menfolk.
Women’s Hub celebrates our fathers, husbands, sons, nephews, grandsons, and cousins for their worthy, sterling contributions, and connections to our lives. We may like to whine, and talk contrarily but we celebrate our men for holding down their jobs with immense capacities.
We celebrate them for always showing up, and coming through time and time again for their families.
It’s not everytime that men bashing should be carried out. Like we said earlier, our menfolk are well loved, and greatly admired for their tenacity, and valour. We also credit them with passing the torch of greatness and history to the upcoming generations.
So, the question is personal to every woman on planet earth—-can you live here alone without the menfolk?
