Kamala Harris has formally accepted the nomination of the Democratic Party as she makes history. She is the first black woman and first person of Asian descent to be nominated as the Presidential Candidate of a major Party in the United States. It’s a big deal.
What’s more? In the two weeks since Joe Biden endorsed her, she’s raised over $300m, breaking all fundraising records ever. Interestingly, the donations are coming from small donors, over 30% of whom are first time donors and 60% women. The latter is not surprising. She’s been a fierce advocate for reproductive rights since the infamous Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that took down Roe v Wade.
Her smile is infectious. She is beautiful. She’s smart. She looks White. She’s Indian. She’s black. She’s married to a Jew.
It does not get more American than that.
She is the fulfillment of the promise of Lady Liberty—-that most beautiful of all statues, a statue of hope that beckons from the hollows of her bosom:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
Now, Kamala must choose a running mate.
Who will it be?
We have Pete Buttigieg the Secretary of Transportation. The big money promise from his catchment LGBTQ community will be a factor. Also, if politics be a game of numbers, my friends, over 7% of the American population or better still, at least 22 million people identify as LGBTQ.
That makes him number one on my list.
We have Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky, Gov. Tim Waltz of Minnesota, and finally, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona.
Second on my list would be Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania. The State has 19 Electoral College votes to give.
We will know her decision by Monday.
Go Kamala—pronounced (Kuh ma la).

She is most likely going to be America’s first Female President and we are looking forward to it. I wish her best of luck in the coming polls
