It’s Valentine’s Day once again ladies. Married couples and intending ones are raising tension everywhere with their outlandish multiple gifts, fun outings and romantic escapades.
What about the lovey-dovey write ups, cards, shout outs, and lavish dinnings.
Hhhhmmmmnnnn, it’s as if being single on Valentine’s Day is a misnomer.
Like it’s a plague or an endemic disease like COVID-19.
It shouldn’t be so ladies. If you are a springle single, allow me to show you the ropes on enjoying life while waiting for your significant other.
I want to burst the bubble of married folks a bit! The way they’re carrying on may make you feel that marriage is a be all and end all.
But, I will tell you for free that marriage alone cannot guarantee your personal happiness.
It’s important for you to personalise your happiness.
Cuz marriage is not a one size fits all contraption to Eldorado.
Being unattached on Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be challenging when you are determined to enjoy your life regardless of marital status.
If only you knew that some married couples also wish they were single, and fancy free.
So, the essence is to preserve your mental health whether single or married.
However, my job this week is to show you how to celebrate Valentine’s Day as a Single Lady.
How to make yourself happy on a daily basis.
Here goes:
- Take yourself out. Regularly go on solo dates to swanky restaurants
- Book a day spa. Check into luxury spa spots for rejuvenation, and reset.
- Order restaurant food. If you’re too busy, order sumptuous dishes from top chefs, and feast at home. You didn’t commit a crime by being single.
- Binge on movies. Rewatch your favourite movies with bulging popcorn, and wine. I recommend Air Force One. Pretty Baby. Sound of Music.
- Give gifts to elderly people. Remember that friendly Grandma in your neighborhood. Send her a food hamper. Send customised tee shirts to Grandpas too.
- Visit Old People’s Home. Research care homes in your city. Visit, and make merry with them. Take along freebies.
- Pen a love letter to your younger self. Journaling is therapeutic. So, pen a love note to serenade yourself.
- Have a Selfcare day. Pamper yourself too. Deck out in fine lingerie, house wears, and cuddly footwear. Put on soft music and comedy skits.
- Buy yourself an expensive gift. That watch, gold chain, bracelet, perfume, and bag also are deserving for you too.
Girl, Valentine’s Day is just one day, but you are stuck with yourself everyday. You must prioritise selfcare and selflove on a daily basis.
Which one will you try out immediately to regain your inner steeze?
