President Joe Biden Passes the Torch.

The Democratic National Convention begins tonight in the great city of Chicago.

56 years ago, the Democratic Convention held in the same city in 1968 against the backdrop of the Vietnam war as American boys and girls were being sent abroad to give their lives for a cause that the nation could not define.

Martin Luther King, and Robert F. Kennedy had been killed two months apart in that same year.

There were heavy protests at the convention. One rioter was killed and over 500 were injured on live television. This week, over 40,000 pro-Palestinian protesters are expected to descend upon Chicago to protest the war in Gaza.

Everyone conveniently forgets that Hamas started this war on October 7th, 2023, when the world woke up to the carnage they had wrought on Israel. Hamas slaughtered 1,250 Israelis in one night, in the greatest wound ever inflicted on the tiny, but powerful nation in one day since the Holocaust.

The Israeli Defense Force, IDF, has been exacting revenge for that night with a 9-month long campaign to rid the earth of Hamas once and forever.

Over 40,000 Palestinian men, women and children have lost their lives and Gaza has been destroyed.

The protesters will be presenting only one narrative, and this is very painful.

Headlines are powerful and painful.

There are two burning questions on the minds of observers this week.

Firstly, how does the Police plan to respond? Secondly, what will Kamala have to say to assuage the concerns of the protesters whilst not offending the Jews who feel equally outraged by what happened to them on October 7th?

Will the protesters spoil the handing over and coronation party for Kamala?

As Biden speaks tonight, will he address the subject convincingly enough?

The Democrats could use a miracle now. A ceasefire is urgently needed in Gaza.

That should shape the events of this week and help deliver a safe, and memorable passing of the torch.

The world holds its breath.
