7 fabulous tips to look 50 forever.

You must know by now that life happens in seasons. There was a time when we were toddlers, teenagers and youths under the guidance of our parents.

Now, we’re parents with our own families, while some are even grandparents.

Our bodies are changing as well to accommodate different dimensions of tasks and challenges of daily living.

Certainly, a sprightly 30 year old today, can afford to feed on junk food and soft drinks all day long without any side effects.

She can be sustained by few hours of sleep and still function at her career or business.

Not so for the older woman who has to step back to navigate this critical stage in life.

There’s a puzzle I have found about life. People with similar influences and backgrounds don’t always turn out the same.

Even siblings raised by same parents.

There’s an element of luck for some.

While some people have it by not doing much, others have to work at it to tap the elixir of aging gracefully.

So, here we go, with my worthy tips for looking fabulous well into your 50s.
This is gleaned from those women that are aging gracefully and nailing life.

Such ageless amazons include Mo Abudu, film icon, who celebrated her 60th birthday this weekend looking very much like 45!

Take a look at the effervescent Abike Dabiri, the Diaspora boss looking age defiant as well as Onari Duke, former First Lady of Cross Rivers State.

They form a pack of astute and well oiled ladies whom we’re proud to call our own.

You should certainly start to put these into practice from your early 40s.

Now, it’s time to prioritize sleep at least for 7 hours daily. Switch off all gadgets or mute them while you sleep.

It helps to reset you for the next day.

Make your food your medicine.
You must eat right foods, especially fruits and vegetables.

Drink lots of water after meals.

No matter what’s going on, shut down and reduce stress.

So much hard aging is caused by uncontrolled constant pressure.

Let go and find peace in the midst of so much uncertainty. Stepping back sometimes gives you another look.

Take short breaks and just enjoy nature. Gardening, nature walks, and park visits are relaxing events.

Volunteering is a safety net for you. Why don’t you gather young people together and teach them social or life skills. It could be in your religious centre or some space in your neighborhood.

Services such as these produce feel good hormones that boost brain health.

Do you wonder why the film, ‘Sound of Music’ was a roaring success? Music is a spiritual balm that revitalises both the body and mind.

Don’t stop singing. Don’t stop playing music. Most influential people don’t play with their on-the-go music playlists.

You too can do the same.
