Just a few days ago, the Late Hamas Political Chief, Ismail Haniyeh, was laid to rest in a whirlwind, million man public funeral. The message was clear—-You may have killed Haniyeh, but Hamas lives on! To prove their point, only yesterday, a new Political leader was named. He is Yahya Sinwar, the alleged architect of the October 7, 2023 attack. It is to be seen whether now as overall leader, he will pivot, and become more amenable to a ceasefire.
Gaza is suffering. Who will put an end to their suffering?
Will the remaining hostages make it back home?
Iran has vowed a big retaliation at a time of their choosing. Hezbollah has vowed the same. Will the region descend into a regional war? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, the world holds its breath.
