In a heated exchange, Elon Musk has taken aim at celebrities Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B for their public support of Vice President Kamala Harris. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, known for his outspoken political views, labelled the stars as “puppets” for the Harris campaign, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
Musk’s comments came after both Lopez and Cardi B made appearances at rallies supporting Harris. He criticised their endorsements, suggesting that their support lacked authenticity and was merely a product of political maneuvering. Musk’s remarks were particularly pointed towards Cardi B, who faced a teleprompter malfunction during her speech at a Milwaukee rally, leading Musk to mock her as unable to speak without being fed words.
Cardi B, never one to shy away from confrontation, fired back at Musk on social media. She defended her background and authenticity, highlighting her upbringing as the daughter of immigrant parents who struggled to provide for her. “I’m not a puppet, Elon. I’m a product of welfare, Section 8, and poverty. You don’t know anything about the American struggle,” she wrote.
Jennifer Lopez also faced Musk’s ire after she condemned former President Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about Latino migrants and Puerto Rico. Musk dismissed her criticisms, suggesting that the public could see through her statements
Harris, who enjoys strong backing from Hollywood, has become a focal point for both support and criticism from influential figures.As the debate continues, the public remains divided, with supporters of Harris praising the celebrities for using their platforms to advocate for change, while critics, like Musk, question their motives and authenticity.
