Another Day, Another School Shooting in America.

According to estimates, Americans possess over 400 million guns.

Somehow, the country manages through the National Rifle Association, to keep guns of all kinds flowing into the hands of people with fewer and fewer restrictions each year.

One has to admire a country that picks and chooses what laws or what parts of the Constitution they want to obey as it suits them.

Everywhere you turn, one is buffeted by the untouchability of the Second Amendment.

What would have been nice in equal measure should also be the untouchability of Civil Rights, Voting Rights, and Human Rights.

In the same country where they are making it easier for sick people to own guns, they are making voting more difficult for normal people.

Now, you have to love a country like that—one that brazenly practices a term I like to refer to as Ostrichism.

After Columbine, after Sandy Hook, after Uvalde, TX——when Congressmen could not get together to ban assault rifles, I thought to myself, “Will they ever be able to do something about guns in America?”

They can.

When enough people who have commonsense gather in Congress, they will pass commonsense gun laws.

Until then, every parent must send their children to neighborhood self defense classes, every reasonable adult should lock up their guns properly, and every school must retool for better safety.

For a long time to come, that’s about all we can do to stay safe.

My beloved State of Georgia, I mourn with you at the four needless deaths in Winder, Georgia.

There are four families today in Winder, Georgia whose tears will not go away anytime soon.

Meanwhile, all ye politicians may continue your macabre dance on the graves of the young, needless dead with hypocritical speeches and a national past time of Ostrichism.

God bless America.
