A Bold and Brave Now.

Now, today is already bold and brave. We should be scared of tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, where will Nigeria be? Are we prepared to be a part of tomorrow? This is where brave and bold decisions come into play. Our President needs to sit back and figure out how Nigeria can compete in the new world that’s already forming. It’s powered by Artificial Intelligence. Already, we are lagging behind in the old world that has lasted approximately 150 years if we begin counting from the Industrial Revolution that was powered by palm oil from West Africa but in which Africa did not participate. I think Europeans think of Africa the way a local hustler thinks of burrow pits—-a place to dig sand and sell. It is sad and this must change.

It was reported recently that Elon Musk is going across the Ocean, to Europe, to purchase a Power Plant to power all the Hardware and Software in an assemblage of the smartest computers in the world to help power new technologies and innovations. We all live in the same world, but one must wonder what our leaders are thinking at this time. Why are they not as bothered as they should be about giving us power? Can’t they see that it’s one of the quickest ways to transform society and stem brain drain? It seems everyone who wants to lead tomorrow, highlights the problems of today. When we’re gullible enough to actually believe them, we vote for them. They mark the time. The problem they criticized remains with us.

Let me localize this phenomenon. There’s a river that forms on Boundary Road in Benin City every time it rains. This river has been called by different names since the time of Lucky Igbinedion as Governor. At the time, locals called it River Lucky. The problem stayed with us. And then, it became River Oshiomhole. He did his 8 years. The problem remained.

It then became River Obaseki. He did 8 years. The problem did not go anywhere. Now, it has become River Akpakomiza. Will he solve the problem and make it go away?
I am not a construction engineer, but neither was Aristotle. One thing we all have in common is—-brains. That problem can be resolved by simple thinking. They need to create huge, mega-sized drainage systems on both sides of the river, and continue the system into Adesuwa all the way to Sapele Road. Voila. Akpakomiza takes credit for a problem that has persisted for 26 years since the new Democratic experience began in 1999. How hard can that be? How much can it possibly cost?

If leadership is about solving problems, Mr. Governor, here’s your chance.

2027 Calls.

The clouds of 2027 are already forming. Yesterday’s failed, old and tired leaders are telling us that Tinubu has failed woefully and that they have the solution. Abraham Lincoln famously said: “You can fool all of the people some of the time; you can fool some of the people all the time; you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”

Should we believe them? Among them is an 80-year old Lion from Igueben. He has switched parties so many times, we have lost count. Add to that, a man who literally spoke in his own words at a time when he was in uniform and had the power to create and implement policy at the Ministry of Communications who infamously said: “telephones are not for poor people.” He presided over a lame Senate that could not reshape our country in any bold way. Add to the group again, a diminutive man who had responsibilities to govern a State but could not “stoop” to find a Christian as his deputy. He ruled like a king and presided over a steady bloodbath in Southern Kaduna. He did so well in his 8 years as Emperor that he lost to the opposition in his State. Now, he wants a bigger stage to perpetrate more evil.

Should Nigerians listen to them?

We love Peter Obi, but one must pity him. He could have remained with Labor to build. By now, he would be the one controlling the narrative with 6 million votes as a starting point. He has left Labor in tatters. He had his chance in 2023. The people needed a rallying point. He spoke their language. Atiku, the perennial runner who ruined it for Goodluck Jonathan ruined it for Peter Obi. If the opposition had united at that time, they would have stood a chance. Everyone was tired of Buhari. We wanted change, but individual vaulting ambition by Atiku, Kwakwanso and Peter Obi was unhelpful. Sometimes, one cannot help but wonder. When people gather to say they want to do something big, don’t they take the time to read a little bit of history and wise sayings? Whatever happened to the true, tried and tested saying: “A house divided against itself cannot stand?”

Oh—Nigeria defies gravity. Divided houses do stand in Nigeria.

Now, what can Tinubu do to consolidate power and win Nigerians over in 2027?

First of all, he must tackle the cost of food. He can embark on an Agricultural Revolution in at least 15 States that have the land and ecology to create maximum impact. A properly implemented agricultural revolution even at 50% implementation will create 35 million new jobs and pull 60 million people out of poverty. Add to that over N45 Trillion in new revenues for the government in new taxes from 60 million new tax payers. In 12 months, results will be there for everyone to see and feel. He must also tackle the entrenched highway extortion system that adds so much to transportation costs as food moves from North to South. Next, he must tackle insecurity. Whereas Goodluck had Chibok as his major Achilles heel, Tinubu must tackle hunger in the land along with perennial massacres in Benue which might become his own Chibok.

That’s just the way it is.

The Black Situation versus White Privilege in America.

On the international stage, we saw Diddy Combs being acquitted of some serious charges last week. He’s still being held in prison for transporting consenting adults across State lines for purposes of prostitution. The key element here is that the actors were being paid. You cannot pay for sex. That is solicitation. Men, be warned. Curiously, he was not charged for abuse. The video that triggered his travails showed him physically abusing Cassie Ventura. Yet, that was not one of the charges. Could it be that the prosecution deliberately invented racketeering charges just to put him away for life unjustly? Let’s juxtapose this with a 30-year old White female teacher in Texas who confessed to sleeping with a 14-year old student more than 50 times. She had the audacity to ask the Judge to reduce the radius of interaction with the victim. She’s free on bail, and certainly, not a danger to society. She’s married. Her husband followed her to court to give her support. That’s just the way White privilege works in America.

An Act of Cruelty.

Let’s imagine this conversation for a minute. It is a parody of a piece of news published by the London Telegraph a week ago.

(Pilots returning from the bombing of Iran).

Pilots: Hey guys— mission accomplished in Iran. We killed 10 Generals. We destroyed their Missile production facilities and bombed a prison. We have some bombs left over from the mission.

Base Commander: Simple. Let me send you some coordinates. Just drop whatever bombs you have left on Gaza.

Pilots: Roger. Over and out. Zoom!!!!!!!!

There will be no outrage from the United States Congress. Anything they do or say will be tagged “Antisemitism.”

The UN will pass a resolution. It will be vetoed. The madness and cruelty will continue in the region. For as long as there are hawks on all sides and the hawks control the narrative in the region, nothing will shift in the region.

If the world continues to treat that region without deep thinking, we will all be consumed eventually.

A New America Party.

It is no longer news that the richest man in the world has been quarreling openly with the most powerful man in the world. This is not hard to predict at all. There’s an old saying which Elon Musk will not understand because he did not grow up in America. It says: “You cannot fight City Hall.”
Power will always be bigger than money. Elon Musk will learn the hard way. He has a big plant in Texas, a Red State. He will soon be informed that his company is built in a flood control zone. It will be marked red. It will be pulled down. The heavens will not fall. He will go to court. Six Red Justices will be waiting for him at the Supreme Court. Will the American people buy what Elon has to sell?

The Big Beautiful Bill.

On another note, the Republican Party has voted massively for what Trump calls the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Political pundits on the Democratic side led by James Carville call it the “Mass Extinction Bill.” They believe that Trump just handed them a gift, a hammer to blow out Republican candidates in the midterm elections coming in 2026. As the taste of the pudding is in the eating, only time will tell if this Bill will hurt the American people or if it will help the American people. The long wait begins.

The future of Humanity.

Has anyone noticed lately that every new movie coming out of the West these days seems to introduce the subject of homosexuality even when it is not relevant to the original theme of the movie? Wherever you turn, you run into it. A friend gave me some statistical data supplied by AI on the subject of homosexuality. It says if 20% of the world’s population are gay, in one thousand years, humanity will be extinct. We are playing with fire.
