With the cost of living hyping up across various sectors of the economy—talk about electricity, telecoms, food, fuel, rent, transport among others—
Isn’t it time to really demand great service for your funds?
Customer service is guaranteed in other parts of the world, such that a chunk of the personnel are assigned to ensure the satisfaction and retention of present, past and potential clients.
Customer reviews are sought and paraded as gold on their company social media pages and newsletters.
Some executives are even employed just to man these pages for interactions with their consumers.
Obviously, customer satisfaction predates the success or otherwise of a company. The public perception drives the acceptance of the outfit.
Women’s Hub is celebrating this week Sola Salako, a change agent devoted to promoting consumer awareness and confidence in demanding for service. She’s the face behind Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria aka Consumer Club, an interactive advocacy tool designed to up the ante in property, telecoms, service delivery, insurance, pension. Name it, they’re carrying on the charge.
Its modus operandi is mainly demanding for what should routinely be available to everyone. It’s also about educating consumers about their rights.
Consumer Club public events are serially held to hand out informative booklets about consumer protection and vigilance. Such events prioritise excellent consumer practices of compliant companies.
A lot of resources are rolled out to engage in enlightenment, education and promotion programs of both consumers and providers.
Almost everyone has a story of dodgy service providers and incompetent front face executives . Now, it’s expedient for us all to rise up from our despondency to call out such unwholesome behaviours. Besides voting with your feet to alternative services, we can put them on their toes by demanding service for our financial investment.
What’s your story on consumer service delivery in the urban centres? Have you ever resorted to taking up charge by railing against shoddy service rendered? When we join hands and speak up, companies will undoubtedly invest better resources in consumer satisfaction and top notch service delivery.
Have your say as always by sending your feedback and comments on this and other topics to mooborscounsellingroom@gmail.com.
